How many rooms in your house are being heated when you aren’t in them?

The current high cost of gas has got me thinking that I’m heating my hallway to 19 degrees, but I don’t spend much time in the hall. My wife and I mostly use 2 rooms in the house, the kitchen/diner in the day and the sitting room in the evening, so why am I heating the rest of it? It occurred to me that I needed a portable wireless thermostat that I can place in the room that I’m actually using. I’ve chosen Hive, as it does everything that I need at the moment and I can scale it up and automate it further as I need it. It's like an energy support scheme for me as in the long term I should see a big difference.
